This gets rid of the leading spaces for me, but not spaces between several title words:

<?php $title_trim = preg_replace ( "/\s\s+/" , "" , wp_title('',false,'') ); ?>

I can then use the $title_trim variable wherever I want.

I have a question.. What if I wanted to hide 1 word or a character (examples: +) from the title? Is this possible??

Really clear tuts, at the first jut adding a pipe sign "|" after
<?php wp_title(''); ?>
to be simpler. But there still | in front of my home page so I decide to follow what you offer.
Great thanks!
